Last week we found hair on the floor. Fine, blonde hair. A quick check of Hannah’s head and sure enough, a nice chunk of hair was missing from the front. It mostly looked like she had wispies so I left it alone.

A few days later Hannah gets her hand on some gum. After failing to get the last chunk out, I just cut it out. It left an even bigger hole on the left side of her head. I decided to just cut it all shorter..and put in bangs. She’s pretty cute.

I love child-sized items! I starting reading Mommy Life several years ago and I enjoy her posts on children. When I saw this set of cleaning supplies, I knew Alex and Hannah would love them!

And then mop, mop, mop!

She stuck to this job for about 45 minutes.

They also love to dust and I let them use my Swiffer duster with the handle down to dust baseboards, bookshelves, and anything else that doesn’t have knick knacks.

We – that is Samantha and I – love looking at the hair do’s on Hair Today. Such cute girls along with cute hair styles. We have been wanting to try some but I needed supplies!

I finally got some gel and combs and hair thingies (though I need more!). First I did Hannah’s hair based on this post. Hannah’s hair isn’t as long on the sides and is very fine. I was barely able to get the braids across the top. And then the ends were so little and just stuck straight up, so I tucked them under instead of trying to curl them.

I took the part a little too far down. I curled the bottoms. That night I went ahead and left the braids in and the next morning they didn’t look too bad..but we were going to the park so I pulled the rest up into a little curl pony.

Samantha’s was one we saw recently and just knew we had to try it! Like the author we really needed clear pony tail holders. Where I got the instructions.

It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Hair Today gives instructions on the twists here. Samantha loves her do and has kept it in for a second day. Looks good too for having slept on it!

This is like Where’s Waldo…only Where’s Hannah? These pictures all occurred within about 3 minutes. This girl moves quick.

We were at the soccer fields for practices. Hannah was playing on the playground with Samantha. I sit a bit of a distance away, in the shade, where I can see Matthew practicing, and the playground at the same time.

I decided to test out my zoom. Hint: She’s in the brown shirt and jean shorts with pink Crocs on her feet.

This is where she spotted Matthew running over. He was soon forgotten though.

In between watching to see where Hannah is at every moment, I was snapping pictures of Leah. Here’s just one …

Hannah loves hats. She uses anything and everything to be her hat. Here she is the other day.

Last week I had a bunch of homeschoolers over for a coffee time. We had a lovely time talking away the morning, while our children were plotting to take over the world.

Checking on the younger ones outside revealed some serious fishing going on.

There were around 35 children here and it was a great day! Lots of other hooligans to play with..what more could they ask for? There are around 35 families in the homeschool group here now…if you homeschool in Twentynine (29) Palms…join us!

Technically we school year round. But we took off a little time around the birth of Leah.  Then there was the moving.  Then we couldn’t find the school books.  Thankfully we had started last year early and then really pushed right before Leah was born.  So besides math, we really did start a new school year.  It won’t be long though and both Sam and Matt will have finished last year’s books and will be ready to jump into the new year.

I’ll be posting some pictures of our first days, and I’ll start you off with Monday morning.  It was around 8am.  We went outside and they had a great time posing for me.  It was already about 150 degrees outside.

(Why do some say Pre-K and some say K-4.  I know why I do!  Because I would say Alex is kindergarten as he doing work that might generally be done in kindergarten, but he is only 4, and some of the stuff is for younger grades.  Like he really can’t WRITE yet..but can do all the phonics and math.)

Hannah, 2 years old

Alex will be 4 years old in 3 weeks.  Hannah turned 2 in May.  Alex is a boy.  Hannah is a princess.

Do you see where I’m going with this?

Alex LOVES to hear Hannah scream.  And she must enjoy screaming since she will continually return to his presence to allow him to growl at her so that she can run away screaming…AGAIN.

Then there are nights like tonight.  He walks in the room, picks her up, twirls her around, gives her a big smooch, and declares, “You’re the best princess EVER!”
